ツアーオブカムイ安平大会が無事に終わりました！

久しぶりに50名近いエントリーを頂き大変賑やかかつ和やかな雰囲気、秋晴れの最高のサイクリング日和の中、安平町の素晴らしい田園風景を堪能するライドとなりました。

やはり、安平の丘陵地帯の田園風景は本当に素晴らしい！

It’s October, and Hokkaido’s (summer) cycling season is entering its final stage. After an unseasonably warm September, we can now look forward to what many feel is the best season for cycling, with crisp blue skies, freshly harvested food, and stunning autumn leaves. In the meantime, here’s a glimpse of our last large inbound tour of the season, which took place over the weekend in Cycling Frontier’s “backyard,” just 40 minutes from downtown Sapporo.

Thanks to all those involved with this week’s GIANT Adventure tour from Chitose, taking in Abira, Kitahiroshima, Eniwa, Shinshinotsu and Tobetsu before finally arriving in Sapporo. Hopefully, the riders had a good a time as the guides!

* We somehow managed to avoid the rain and floods

We somehow managed to avoid the rain and floods brought about by the tail-end of the typhoon, and had some fun at a cycling event on the island of Rishiri last weekend, followed by a media trip to Lake Nukabira, where we completed the Mikuni Pass and Naitai Kogen hillclimbs. The temperatures are still pretty high for Hokkaido at this time of year, but looking forward to cooler riding conditions in September. Lots more tours, events and filming scheduled for the autumn, as Hokkaido approaches what many feel is its best season for cycling.

8月最初のロングツアーは、台湾からお越しの団体様でした。

富良野〜釧路〜納沙布岬〜知床〜サロマ湖〜宗谷岬〜サロベツ原野〜増毛と、北海道の半周以上をバスとのハイブリッドで巡る壮大なツアーでした。

皆さんマナー良く、無事にツアーを終える事ができました。
台湾の皆さん、またお待ちしております！！

Twelve legs, eleven wheels. This week, Cycling Frontier hosted a family of six from the US, on a 4-day tour of Furano and Biei. A special shout out to the 9-year-old daughter who rode all 200 km on a special rig attached to her dad’s e-bike.

A recent international symposium in Sapporo gave Cycling Frontier the opportunity to host optional cycling excursions for participants each day of the week during the period of the gathering. More than 50 people from over 15 countries enjoyed socializing while taking in the rural scenery around the Ishikari River to the north of the city.

As cyclists from throughout Japan and beyond gathered in Hokkaido for the UCI Niseko Classic Gran Fondo World Series last weekend, Cycling Frontier welcomed a group from Taiwan on a tour of the same region (and same route, in parts) during the same period. Occasional, localised heavy rain caused logistical problems at times, but thanks to the cooperation of the riders and flexibility of the Cycling Frontier operational set-up, no one even got wet and a great time was had by all on great rides around Lake Toya, the Niseko mountains and Shakotan Peninsula. Thanks guys (and gals); hope to see you again soon.
